HEART HEALTH
These are some suggestions which may help these conditions. These suggestions are not a replacement for medical evaluation and treatment. Evaluation by a clinical nutritionist is often necessary. Lifestyle consultation may be necessary.
DIET
- Three moderate meals a day
- Filtered Water – eight glasses a day (at least)
- Plenty of FRESH vegetables and fruits (organic is best)
- No SWEETS and No SNACKING, NO LATE SNACKS OR MEALS
- REDUCE STARCHES DURING THE DINNER MEAL
EXERCISE
- AT LEAST 5 TIMES A WEEK, 30-45 MINUTES DAILY
- RAPID WALKING IS THE BEST EXERCISE (BICYCLING OR SWIMMING)
CHOLESTEROL CONTROL
- DIET AND EXERCISE WHICH PRODUCES WEIGHT LOSS
- SOLUBLE FIBER FOODS – PSYLLIUM, OATS, BARLEY, EGGPLANT, OKRA
- FISH, FISH OIL, FLAX SEED OIL AND OTHER OMEGA 3 RICH FOODS; OLIVE OIL, WALNUTS, ALMONDS, GARLIC, GREEN TEA
- RED WINE ½ GLASS DAILY OR GRAPE JUICE
- POMEGRANATE JUICE DAILY
- RED GRAPEFRUIT (AVOID IF TAKING REGULAR MEDICATIONS)
- GREEN VEGETABLES (FOLATE); CUT ANIMAL PROTEIN INTAKE
- JUICE – 1/4 CUP APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, 4 CUPS OF APPLES, AND 3 CUPS OF WHITE GRAPE JUICE – TAKE DAILY FOR 1 MONTH ONLY
BLOOD PRESSURE CONTROL
- STRESS CONTROL – A huge topic but- RELAXATION AND DEEP SLOW BREATHING, A CHEERFUL DISPOSITION, AVOID THE AVOIDABLE, A RICH SPIRITUAL LIFE, COMMUNITY, FAMILY, SEPERATE WORK AND LEISURE ....
- DIET, EXERCISE, AND WEIGHT LOSS (see above)
- POMEGRANATE JUICE; GARLIC; ONIONS, DARK CHOCOLATE (small amount); COMBINE RED WINE VINEGAR AND GRAPE JUICE
- MAGNESIUM RICH FOODS – BANANAS, AVOCADO, LENTILS, OATMEAL, BROWN RICE, YOGURT, ALMONDS, CASHEWS, and others.
- REGULAR MEDICATIONS MAY BE NEEDED FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
